The Scottish Creel Fishermen’s Federation (SCFF), established in 2012, represents Scotland’s inshore creel fishing sector—comprising 74% of the country’s inshore commercial fleet and contributing over £38 million to the economy in 2012 alone. Historically underrepresented in fisheries policy, creel fishers now have a unified voice through the SCFF, which brings together ten regional associations across the Scottish coast. With strong support from Marine Scotland and coastal communities, SCFF advocates for sustainable fisheries management, promotes Scotland’s high-quality creel-caught seafood, and works to ensure the long-term economic and environmental viability of the sector.
