Empesca’t is an association of artisanal fishermen from l’Escala and l’Estartit, united by a passion for sustainable fishing, tradition, and respect for the marine environment. Using small boats and low-impact traditional gear, they fish responsibly in their local waters, combining deep local knowledge with professionalism. Motivated by the challenges of selling their catch fairly, they created the Empesca’t brand to bypass intermediaries and supply traceable, high-quality seafood directly to select hospitality venues—supporting both their livelihoods and the health of the marine ecosystem.
